Bite the Hand Productions is founding a society at Sonoma State University! We will be using the society to provide more artistic and activist opportunities for university students and for our local community. Here are three main goals of that we will be working on:
We are going through the chartering process right now and will be having meetings and events very soon! Keep checking our web site for updates!
Are you a JC or SSU student? We want to have more members among SSU students. We also want to start up a society at the JC. E-mail us at thepharmakon@gmail.com if you are interested!

It was about a year ago that The Boogie Room and Gardens was founded. It has been a crazy whirlwind of activity ever since! What a success! Through the Boogie Room and Gardens, our community has accomplished many things:
We have created a venue of our own. The shows that go on the The Boogie Room stretch the definition of what a house show can be. Here we can see the amazing possibilities that come with having our own space.
We have created our own community garden! Lots of people are getting the opportunity to practice agriculture at the garden at Todd Road. Growing our own food is very important and we are only scratching the surface of The Boogie Room and Gardens’ 10 acres.
We have a team of people who are really working together to build a community. We are talking about the core of this project: Kyle and Kyle, Mark, Ryan, Keri, Andre, Nicko, and Bryce. This crew is doing something very special. They are taking the leap and creating a strong community foundation with one another.
This is a serious step and a big bite. Please, support this community project and donate when you go there. Be sure to bring visiting friends and family there to spread the word. Also, in the springtime they will be needing volunteers, so contact them and help out!
It is a project for everyone in the community. The Boogie Room and Gardens is in it for the long haul. They are working on getting non-profit status and reaching out to more people. How can we help?

The good folks at The Boogie Room and Gardens need a sound intern to help them manage the many shows they are putting on in our community! The current technichian has eight years of experience and is one seriously talented son-of-a-gun. He will teach you how to use all of the equipment and you will help him run some shows.
It’s free! The skills you learn will be priceless!

We want artists without much dough. Shouldn’t be hard to find, right? Y’see, we have this little art gallery at Free Mind Media (540 Pacific Avenue in Santa Rosa) called the “Cheap Art Gallery.” We only allow cheap art (25 cents to 20 dollars) to be sold at this exclusive gallery. So, the art is sold cheap and it usually is made cheaply. Here’s the deal: We want more cheap art for our Cheap Art Gallery!!
So paint some sticks! Make a sculpture out of coat hangers and paste! Draw a sketch of Bertolt Brecht! Go to the gallery and fill out a form. Our Cheap Art Curators will put it out for display and sale as soon as possible. All money goes to Free Mind Media or to the artist, depending on what the artist wants.
Also! On December 16th, Bite the Hand Productions will be having holding our first “Cheap Art Craft Day” at Free Mind Media (540 Pacific Ave in Santa Rosa). We will be coming together with our favorite books, pulling the best quotes from them, and putting the quotes into little books we will make out of cardboard. We call them “Bite-Sized Books!” The craft day starts at 2:30. Call 326-5274 for details.

Our Pharmakon pamphlets are getting pretty popular! We are currently printing over 250 black and white copies per month to distribute for free all over the county! That’s huge, and it is getting to the point where we need help from the community.
We need people to help us get these little paper pilgrims to local coffeehouses and other places of interest. We are aiming for two waves of delivery: One in the beginning of the month and one in the middle, so we can be sure plenty of people have an opportunity to pick it up.
If you can take Pharmakon to The Flying Goat, Community Market, North Light, Hardcore Coffee, Zone Music, Coffee Cats, Community Bikes, the Junior College, or any other location you think would work give us a call as soon as you can at 326-5274. With your help, we will cover the county!
